Latest RS3-v- Latest RS4...
Discussion
Hi,
I bought a new RS4, back in 2013 and loved it. But, following a crash (and loss of job - not related!), I traded it for an S3... Why?...
Anyway, last year I swapped the S3 in for a new Macan Turbo(!), but now feel this is: A - a little too big, and B - Not so much fun in the bends...
Now the RS dilemma... Most of the time there is only two of us in the car, but, when my son stays, I need more than a two seater. I do a fair bit of tri racing, so occasional weekends the car is loaded up. The 4 was ok with all this, even with 2 bikes inside, but 2 bikes, plus kit in the 3 was quite tight.
Now that the RS4 has lost the V8 soundtrack I'm not sure I'll be happy with it again.
I'm stuck between the two, not on performance, but just size.
If the difference in performance was great enough, I could probably start using a rack!
Not had time to test drive either, as yet.
Any one have experience of one, or both?...

I've recently got a new B9 RS4, and have driven the new Rs3 (Ive also had a B7 Rs4 and two B8 Rs4's too)I bought a new RS4, back in 2013 and loved it. But, following a crash (and loss of job - not related!), I traded it for an S3... Why?...

The RS3 is not dissimilar to the Rs4, just a little less refined and louder. If you only wanted to go for the occasional blast, the RS3 is a great car, but if you do decent mileage, the RS4 is a better car. performance wise, the RS4 is a little bit quicker, but not by a massive amount, and the noise of the Rs3 makes it feel faster than it actually is (if that makes sense?)
I work in the Tri industry too, so use my car for lugging bikes around regularly, and have a two bike roof rack that I'll move over to the new car soon. You can get two TT bikes in the back of the RS4 with the front wheels off and seats down, but not sure you'd do the same in an Rs3
In comparison to the B8 Rs4, the B9 is a massive leap forward in pretty much every way other than missing that V8 noise

Red used to be the fastest colour, but now it's Nardo
I think Nardo really shows off the shoulder lines better. Did you do any new car paint treatment/detail when you picked it up?
