I've got a 2014 TT S-line with Bose, and the amp died with a sizzle and a lovely burning smell. I've taken it into SVT in Edinburgh and they've confirmed it's dead. I've already checked ebay, so does anyone have suggestions for sourcing a second hand replacement?
Bit of a resurrection - similar happened to my partner's car and amp.
Has anyone used one of various eBay-based repair services where chips are removed, new ones installed, and guards added to prevent recurrence of the water ingress issue and has any feedback for them?
I'd say get yourself over to the TT Forum. It's a common issue and so there's been loads of chat over the years. The other option is a used unit off eBay and they do come up. I also seem to remember they're the same across other models, such as the A3. But don't hold me to that.
