Audi S3 8V - Should I buy this or not

I have been looking at A3 S line 2.0 tdi's and the 1.4 tfsi for around the 12k mark but I always go for the 2nd option rather than what I really want (Sensible head). What I really want is an S3. I have HPI checked this one and checked the insurance which surprisingly is £470pa fully comp. I just need to bite the bullet and just go for it. I know the colour of this one attached is not the most desirable but I quite like how subtle it is. It is up for £16,250 or best offer on a 14 plate.

To me it seems too cheap as they tend to hover around the £18k mark. What do you think I should offer and are these cars a good steer. Firstly need to get rid of my 10 plate Scirocco.

Are those actual S3 wheels on it? Not clued up on S3 wheels, but they don't look the part so not sure if Audi sold with basic wheels or if have been changed?

I think the are S3 option wheels. I think you can choose from 3 or 4 different style of wheel

Seems suspiciously cheap, is it a Cat D?

That's what I initially thought. My brother works for a large finance company and did a full check on it and it comes up clean with a clean value of £15.5k and a retail value of £18.5.. I expect the £15.5k is what he has been offered by one of the car buying companies or as a p/x

I would say the price is about right for a private sale, what miles has it done? Manual or Auto?

It's 4-years old now and cost £30k-ish new so still very strong residuals.

It's a Manual 1 owner car with 48k miles

As a 3 door manual it's one of the least desirable S3s; if spec isn't great either (can't really tell much from that photo) it's no surprise the price is low.
