MK7 Golf R brake pads

Hi,

I have a mk7 Golf R. had pretty 'meh' service from VW but the thing I want to follow up is brake pad wear - the health check ows yer father says 7mm brake wear. So how worn is that in reality? everything is shown as 'okay' but that sounds like a lot of wear so suggests to me that new pads are imminent(?)

If my memory serves me right front pads are 12mm new, rear pads are 10mm new.

Wear indicator on the fronts triggers at around 3mm.
