Hi,

I'm looking at a new car and have found the T-Roc to be a good all rounder.

Does anyone have one here? Any comments or criticism would be handy.

I'm just waiting on getting a test drive at the mo as I'm unsure if the 1.5 is going to be good or not.

(Typo, its the TSI engine not FSI)

Thanks

Matt

I can’t comment on the Troc itself but I’ve had the 1.5’s predecessor the 1.4 ACT 150bhp in a Golf for the past 3.5 years & 74k miles. For a daily driver it’s superb; quiet, refined, quick ish & 46mpg. Can’t imagine the 1.5, in 150bhp at least is any worse.

Great thanks very much.
I actually test drove one today and it was a nice drive.
Think i’m going to go for it. They are a nice car.

Mrs ubbs had a drive in the 1.5 cod one, didn’t get chance to try the 2.0 petrol also we were told the r line version wasn’t released on sale in the uk till September.

Last September? The dealer I’m talking to has one say in the showroom. It’s a nice car. Looks great.

The R Line is available although only stock ones.
Maybe if you want options then you may have to wait.

How did you get on? Other half is lusting after one, seems to get reasonable reviews bar the feel of the dash. Likely a 1.0 or 1.5 TSI if not the r-line.

Don't get the manual..

Girlfriend has the 1.5 TSI manual one and the manual drivetrain is possibly the worst I've ever driven. In two years and 12000 miles I don't think I've managed to pull off from a stop smoothly once.

We test drove the 2.0 TSI DSG before buying the 1.5 TSI manual and it was a peach. Smooth as silk and went like st off a stick when provoked. Shame the only 2.0 TSI DSG model available when we bought ours was the 2.0 TSI R Line 4 motion which was £29k+ at the time.

I ended up buying a fully loaded Volvo V40 R Design Pro after a lot of thought. Paid £25k and got 0% finance too.

I found the T-ROC overpriced with the kit it came with and the finance rates were a bit of a joke for a new car too.

I'm a year down with the V40 and love it to bits. Its a nice car to drive.

Ah right that's very interesting.

After 30secs looking at the the XC-40 we've also looked at the V40. The Volvo is dearer to start with, but unlike the T-roc and XC-40 there are some used V40s around which might me a really option if there is something a sensible price in good condition.

Seems a lot less 2-3yo cars around on autotrader these days, I don't yet know if that's because they all end up a used approved schemes or because they are all 5yr PCP contracts!
