Quite like this. Nice front but a bit Fabia-ish everywhere else. Interior looks a bit Polo. Infinitely better than the Noddy car current one though.

It's funny how bumpers have gone full circle from the 80s when many cars had black plastic bumpers as standard with "body coloured" items being reserved for the higher spec models... to today when stylists seem to denote the "sportiness" of a model by the amount of black plastic on the front. At least three quarters of the nose of that car below the bonent line seems to be slabs of randomly contoured lumps of black plastic.
Gopping, too much style for style sake, which is a shame as I think the rest of the Audi range looks quite good
The interior is very nice though
My sister has a new Ibiza which I think is the best looking of the 3 from the outside but that A1 interior is great on a small car
I first thought it reminded me of a X1 with the way the rear lights are

Sure it won’t be long before we see loads of white base spec ones driving around with rar rar girls that are too rich for a fiat 500 at the helm

Lots of people apparently, they sold well in the last generation.
tty 4 banger diesel in a small car anyway? What engines are they launching with? The 1.5tsi evo my sister has in her Ibiza and that’s in golfs and the A3 is currently unavailable due to the new emissions test

A range of three TFSI petrol engines is available from launch. A 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo comes in two states of tune, 95bhp (badged 25 TFSI) and 116bhp (30 TFSI). The 35 TFSI is powered by a 148bhp 1.5-litre turbo, while the flagship 40 TFSI model makes use of a 197bhp 2.0-litre turbo. What on earth are they doing with the engine numbering? 25,30,35,40? Bit wierd.

The article says 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 turbos, so presumably they've modified the 1.5 to get it through the emissions tests. Or developed a new one I suppose; I get the feeling that with these modern modular engines the difference is largely one of semantics. Blaster72 said:

I believe Audi anounced this as their new naming convention last year. It's pretty much a direct copy of BMW's system, where the number is just an adstract representation of the power output. Thanks Kambites.

the 2l petrol will get the same 6 speed dsg that the golf gti and the leon cupra get ?
the 7 speed is found on engines with lower torque output.
There's actually two 7-speed transverse DSG boxes - there's the DQ200 which is has quite a low torque limit but there's also the DQ500 (used in the transverse engined RS models). I suspect the high-torque seven speed is pretty heavy, though. the 7 speed is found on engines with lower torque output.

It also slightly helps as power output these days =/= higher displacement due to turbocharging etc. So now clearly a 55TFSI is more powerful than a 50TDI despite both being 3 litre V6s etckambites said:

I think the idea is that engine capacity is no longer representative of HP output as before long all petrols will be 1.0l 3 pot turbos anyway. On top, they need to slot in the hybrid and electric variants, so out came that weird numbering system. Pretty sure an A1 40 TFSI has a different output to an A6 40 TFSI, so the numbering is very abstract and bears no resemblance to actual power output as the scaling is different per model line.As regards the car, it’s pretty much over styled as one would expect from a modern car. Would probably prefer the clearer lines of a Polo, but then again I wouldn’t consider a VAG product anyway.
