Thule rack on Polo BLUE GT

Hi there,

My wife has a 2017 5 door Polo BlueGT that I am planning on using for mountain biking. I have the correct thule roof bars, feet and fitting kit as per the Thule and Halfords websites for the 5 door polo however following the instructions of placing the front bars c. 180 mm from the windscreen looks not enough and it is on the sloping part of the roof.

As such when I try to fit my 591 carrier it doesn't go on properly as the two front bolts for the cycle carrier are jamming in the bars due to the tracks not being level. Does anyone have any experience of fitting this system to a MK5 5 door polo as I am fit to burn the lot...

Check in your manual as it will define the fixing points and may be different to Thule instructions, can be found here..
