Our experience of extending VW lease on Mk7 Golf R

In case others are thinking of getting an extension request done, I thought I'd post our experience of going through the process.

We've got a 66 plate Golf R estate due back on 1 Sept. It's done 14,000 miles. We're paying £270/month on a 10k pa deal at 3+23 through VWFS.

We emailed them for a quote for 6 months up to 20k total miles or 12 months up to 24k total miles.

After 3 weeks (definitely a backlog with them), they sent us the two quotes by email: £230/month for another 12 months or £207/month for another 6 months.

A £60 admin applies to both options.

All we had to do was reply with our preferred option within 7 days, by signing the attached pdf form and getting it witnessed.

We've gone for the 12 month option in light of not wanting the hassle of changing cars right now. We're happy with the quotes they gave us.

All I can say to people just make sure you confirm within the 7 days. My quote went up from £190 to £246 a month when I didn't confirm in the 7 days time..

Worth knowing.

Mine's on lease 'til next June, but I'd never considered the option to extend the lease.
