Hi all! A bit of backstory..I recently had a mk7 golf gti which I got rid of, having convinced myself that what I really wanted was a convertible..7 weeks later I decided what I really wanted was my sensible golf back. My (very understanding) wife and I discussed this matter and decided on an Octavia vrs instead.
So basically having recently owned a gti I knew roughly what I was expecting with the vrs but for whatever reason it feels faster. This could of course be a placebo but I decided to take it on a dyno yesterday and apparently it’s making 257.5bhp and around 280ft lb.
this brings me to my question. Skoda quote 226bhp as standard, is this at the wheels or crank? I’m also not certain if the dyno was showing bhp at the crank or wheels.

Anyway, sorry for banging on, cheers for reading.

The TSI 220/230 engine output is often under quoted. They seem to normally read about 245bhp on a dyno. So yours is a little above average, but that may simply be due to the dyno and / or operator.

The output figures are normally at the flywheel.

What dyno was this? May be one that's known for over-reading.

The power output (actually the torque) is obviously measured by the dyno at the driven wheels. An amount (guess?) is then added for the losses between engine & wheels.
