My advice is test drive them - we bought a 9 month old 14 plate 2.0 auto Diesel black edition and it was fabulous - we traded for a new one in Dec 16 as there were some great offers - we picked up a brand new 2.0d Ultra Black Edition with the 7 speed auto - made the school boy error of not test driving and this one is awful, we cant wait to get rid of it.

It has a huge lag in low gears and if you are coming to a round about and it drops to 2nd, you put your foot down and nothing, then a surge - its awful. Has been in a few times and they know its crap and we have had the 'they all do that sir' discussion, but for us, it is worse than our old V70 which had huge lag which Volvo are renowned for.

Hope that helps but as I say, test drive, test drive, test drive ...

Took a flyer and bought a 2013 2.0d auto
58k on the clock - 1 owner - drove great
Didn’t get the manual being 6ft4 -
People say clutch area not comfy on a long trip - off set
Looking forward to it , family bus , dog in the back .

I've had a 2013 2.0 TDI auto from new. It has 52k miles on it and has been faultless.
Make sure yours has had a new cam belt and water pump. Due at 50k or 5 years. Also gearbox should have had an oil change at 38k.
