Hi all,

Possibly going to look at a 2013 Touareg.
R Line tiptronic.
41,000 miles
1 owner from new
Full service history
Corn silk beige leather
Retractable towbar
Panaoramic roof

Anything I need to look for with the service history? And bearing in mind it will be 6 years old next year are there any major service costs that either should be done or will need doing soon? I.e cam belt, tensioners, etc.

Thanks in advance

Check the sunroof opens and closes quietly and smoothly. That’s the only issue. If it breaks it means a whole new cassette that costs thousands.

We’ve done nearly 40,000 in ours and it’s been great. Servicing from main dealer is £300 and £400.
Average 30 mpg.

The worst thing is carpark dents and scratches because of the size.

Treg.com is a good forum for info.

Thanks!

I've spoken to the seller and it sounds great, purchased new locally and has all the options including area view, reverse camera, etc.

The only thing it doesn't have which I would have liked is air suspension for towing - but we only tow our caravan a couple of times year so I don't think it's a big deal.

Can anyone comment on 20" alloys and R-Line standard suspension ride quality?

The ride is slightly firm. It’s never going to be a Range Rover but I’ve never had an issue and it doesn’t roll too much for me.

Mk3 touregs are great cars - only thing that lets them down is the dated infotainment system

Regardless they are a lot of car for the money!

Coming from a 2006 vintage A6 Avant with old school black and red MMI it's a bloody revelation!! laugh

Yeah, it's a lovely place to be and the pano roof really does set it off nicely.

Picked up the Touareg yesterday, absolutely made up with it.

What a lovely place to be, really comfortable and fantastic road presence.

We keep finding more kit - DVD player and heated steering wheel were discovered last night! Fantastic.

They are no slug either.
Presume you have the 3.0L V6 TDI ?
For 2,5 tones, the acceleration is excellent.
