Vw Polo 1.2TDI EGR and DPF problem

Hi
I have had a problem with the egr valve the light keeps coming on the dash and I’m getting the insufficient flow code. Then the DPF light kept coming on.
The garage checked it out and can’t say for sure if it is the egr valve. If I get it changed it’s comibg up to £400 and the problem could return.
Someone said I can get the car remapped and delete the EGR( which is cheaper) but will thst cause problems after with the DPF?
Has anyone has the EGR deleted and had any issues?
