Morning all,

Does anyone have any experience of heated seats in the back of an Audi A6/RS6?

The rear panel to control the air heating / cooling works fine and has power but neither of the heated seat buttons work. I've tried sitting in the rear seat with the seatbelt on in case it works off pressure sensors but it made no difference. I've checked the fuse box and the fuse labelled for the rear heated seats isn't blown.

I've heard pressure sensors in the seats can break but it's unusual neither side is working. The car is low mileage (28k miles on a 2014) and looks like the back seats have seen very little action.

Is there something obvious I'm missing / should check or do I need to take it somewhere for them to strip down the rear bench? If so, are there any recommendations for decent independent specialists in the Surrey/Hants/Berkshire border area?

Thanks

Quite expensive to fix if the seats need stripping. How much do you need heated rear seats?

It's extremely rare that anyone sits in the rear (apart from children who are in child seats so it's not an issue) but it's more knowing that something isn't working on an expensive car that annoys me.

It's possible it might be covered by the warranty but I won't hold my breath. The policy document says all cabin heating & cooling components are covered but as it's a Warranty Direct warranty I expect they'll say the heated seats don't heat the cabin.

I was hoping to find a blown fuse for a quick fix but it looks like it might be far more involved than that.

Agreed, very annoying. But dealing with WD can be even more so!

They work without anyone sitting in the back. Silly question, but does your car have that option? Fronts are standard, rears an option. It might be that you have the switches but not the elements. Check your options codes. Daft I know but.....

The MyAudi app says it has heated rear seats in the 'optional equipment' section.

Over the Christmas break I might pull the rear bench seat up to check if a) there is actually wiring there, and b) that it's connected and there's nothing obviously frazzled / disconnected.

You need to spend a bit of time using VCDS to investigate.
