Rattle noise at 4500 rmp in 2017 VW Passat SE Business

Hello. I have just bought a used approved VW Passat (1.6 TDI).

When accelerating to join fast moving traffic such as joining the motorway, there is a faint rattle sound at about 4500 rpm. It mainly happens if in 3rd gear.

Is this anything to worry about?

If it was my car and the noise seemed strange and it was under warranty like it is then I’d defiantly be taking it back for them to look at. Just make sure it’s nothing rattling around in the boot

4.5k RPM is way outside the driving range for this engine and is probably at the red line. No diesel engine sounds great on the red line.

I think max power from this engine is at 3.6k RPM.

Thanks. I think that is probably very true. I've just switched from driving a Mini Cooper S to this and I'm still adjusting to it (had it for 2 days and driven it twice).
