2019 A6 - Technology Package or not..

Hello All,

Looking at the 2019 A6 Avant as a replacement for my current company 2017 A6 Black Edition Avant. Car will be a lease and have been quoted with and without the technology package included. The rub being the non tech pack cars are currently in stock and the wait times for a factory build are all over the place from what I've read for obvious reasons..

Anyone got any experience of using both? Aware the virtual cockpit would be a significant loss but other than that is there much functionality missing other than a smaller main infotainment screen?

Finding info on this is very difficult to come by as every review I can find has the technology package fitted.

I have the tech pack in my a5. I love it but it’s more of a gimmick than something of huge use. The only thing that it really makes a difference in is the sat jab being much easier bang smack in front of you.

We decided against it in our A3, The virtual dash looks epic but a bit of a gimmic since it displays the same as the screen in the dash, abd you can’t get CarPlay maps in it I don’t think.

Do you gain anything else on the A6?

I’ve just took delivery of a A6 without the tech pack, the only thing I’d miss is the digital dash. The sat nav is so much more advanced than my old (3 year old) A5. If it’s a big cost increase or massive wait I wouldn’t bother. Yes, I’d prefer it but I could have had a brand new car with tech pack or a 6 month old ex-demo without for £10k less.

Didn't get it in my A4. Virtual cockpit looks great, but once I selected a view on my test drive loaner I didn't change it and I dont have a phone that would make use of the wireless charging,

I found the comfort pack was of much better value, reversing camera, B&O stereo and the keyless entry thing. Although I know some of these features and packs differ now from when I ""purchased"" mine. I just couldnt justify another £1500 on a digital screen that I wouldnt really use.
