Finding at around 70mph + van GOES INTO LIMP MODE, on and off key ok again, mechanic who did my brakes last week told me he noticed intercooler pipes loose, is it possible that could be the culprit??

Previous owner mentioned limp mode sometimes on motorways. The van most of the time really drives and pulls well normally this only sometimes occurs at higher speeds.

If ts not loose pipes any deas what to check?

Hi Carl

thanks for replying, is that an educated guess or pretty sure?

Bloke who did my brakes said he noticed intercooler pipes loose? this has been gong on for some tme, think previous owner wasnt type to give the motor much stick, I have been giving van a good caneing up and down hills hoping if it is stck turbo may loosen up,

Have seen a few u tube vids where they do a quick fix usong chemicals to clean ithout taking turbo off van, have u heard ant good results doing this/

thanks sean

Could well be the turbo pipes, check them all for play especially the outlet from the turbo , the pipes should be tight even without the clips.
I’ve never had to do it but you can clean the turbo in situ, I don’t think that’s your problem though
