Two very sad people.Plus me being nosey.
Discussion
I was sat waiting for the garage (VAG specialist, APR dealer etc) to do a job on my car, in the waiting area were two men, I reckoned father and son.
Father had a leg missing (there is a point to this) and the grown up son was a right geek, Velcro trainers, terrible tracksuit bottoms, talking too loudly about car stuff etc.
Because I was bored I started putting a picture together of the pair of them and started to wonder what car they were in. I thought, they look like geeks but the father has had a bad accident (the leg) had a huge payout and they have a nice car. How wrong I was.
When it came their turn to pay I wandered into the shop/reception for an earwig and heard the son ask about a re-map, an economy re-map! They were having cruise control retro fitted hoping to make the car more economical then he asked about the economy re-map on a 105 BHP Skoda Octavia estate.
The receptionist held it together well and calmly said they had never been asked for an economy re-map before. We had a good chuckle about it later.
I thought Christ on a bike, live a little. Cool starry bra and all that but it amused my tiny brain.

What are the chances of finding, in one garage, at one time, a man with one leg, a geek and an egotistical bigot?Father had a leg missing (there is a point to this) and the grown up son was a right geek, Velcro trainers, terrible tracksuit bottoms, talking too loudly about car stuff etc.

The only thing more tragic that this post is the fact you spoke with the receptionist about it. I expect it was a very one-sided discussion in the style of Alan Partridge. Tragic all round.
A quick comment was passed about why would someone want a low powered heavy car mapping to go even slower in the short sighted hope it would make it more economical. The very clued up receptionist thought it was a strange request and I agreed with him. Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
