2010 plate golf estate fuel flap door stuck-help?

Hi all, my golf fuel tank flap/door usually opens by pressing the corner and releases some sort of catch and to be honest never really took much notice as to how it works but now won't open?

I've looked on YouTube but cant find anything relating to my problem or model

I looked in glovebox manual and it says about a release pull handle ( like the bonnet pull one ) but I don't think I've got one because never used it and can't see one?

What do I need to do lads?

There should be a manual release for the fuel flap behind the interior trim panel on that side of the boot.

Not related to the central locking and by chance it's always been unlocked before and this time locked?

While the suggestions came in, I managed somehow to open it after messing about for ages ( and very tempted to pull it off ) BUT I didn't find what actually opened it to be honest but used silicon spray/ lock n unlock repeatedly / thumping and being gentle. . . . . Now it's open I have fuel and it's working at the moment

So moving on for the professionals/experienced people on PH. . . .there is a plastic pin thing that closes/opens when I press it and has a hex screw below it. . . do I need to take it off and oil it or buy a new pin or what?

Update and more help needed please. . . . Keyfob wouldn't open any doors this morning, so opened drivers door with key and started car, then used lock/unlock button on drivers door which open all doors and boot but fuel flap still locked!

I obviously have a fault but where do I start?

Any pointers appreciated
