2009-10 A6 3.0Tfsi Quattro....
Discussion
Looking out for a decent sized (5er, E class, A6) estate, preferably post 2010 with a big petrol engine.
I know nothing about Audi’s, having been a bit of a BMW fan in the past. But the idea of a 3.0 V6 turbo in a standard looking car does appeal.
Most are auto/tiptronic, are these gearboxes as strong/proven as the BMW/Merc equivalents?
Any other reasons to avoid??

That's the supercharged V6 from the S4 (not turbo) in a lower state of tune. The engine is really strong. Water pumps and thermostats can leak but other than that give very little grief. There's a current recall on fuel rails and if you're crafty you could save loads of labour having a new stat and pump installed while the dealer is in there doing those.
6 speed ZF torque converter - strong box, nothing to worry about.
