Golf GTI PP DSG 2010 Tyre usage
Discussion
Hi there quick question...
I had my tyres replaced on my car in March of this year and the alignment done by a tyre garage at the time of change. When driving the car home it did drive in a straight line but the steering wheel was not totally central but as it was driving straight did not think anything about it.
Today 13k miles later whilst having a bulb changed on the car (bumper off jobby) the garage said that my inside front tyres where down to the wire and need replacing. The tyres I had on where not budget tires but Bridgestone and I was very surprised that I only got 13k on the fronts. I have only owned this car for 1.5 years so do not know what wear I should expect so thought I would ask the pistonhead community.
Should I have got more than 13k?
Was my alignment possible not done or done wrongly?
Could there be another underlying problem that I should get looked at?
My driving style is not hard and the roads I drive on daily are a mix of back roads to motorway depending on work.
Thanks for your replies.

Tyre wear can vary massively from how you drive and where you drive, but the fact they have worn to the wire on the inside would suggest something is amiss and not "normal" tyre wear. I just scraped 12k from the front tyres on my GTD, no motorway driving.
I'm sure someone will be along to give you a list of possible broken parts that cause uneven tyre wear.
