A6 Sport 40 Tdi S-A - 2018

Current Bridgestone tyres are really crap for traction in straight line. When trying to set off from roundabouts etc, the wheels constantly spin and struggle to get a grip the road.

Looking at the MICHELIN PRIMACY 4 but I am not so sure about these either.

Would be grateful for your thoughts on what tyres would be best for better grip on the road ?

The possible permutations are so numerous it’s almost impossible to get ONE answer that fits your requirements. For example tomorrow’s weather’s is forecast to be 10 DegC in Cornwall, -7 in Scotland; raining cats and dogs in NI & Wales! All aspects will have an impact on what suits. Personally I’ve only ever bought summer tyres but I’d certainly be thinking all-season or winter tyres if I was buying now and lived up in the top parts of the UK.
I’ve changed from Continental PremiumContact 6 (225/40/18) to Michelin PilotSport 4. This is in a Front wheel drive 220Hp Škoda Octavia vRS. Kerbweight Is around 1354 kg. I don’t know how that compares with power and weight on your A6, but mine never wheelspins unless I want it to!

We have continental all season tyres on the 4wd Octavia Scout. Very good but a bit noisy. Great in snow, on wet roads and in the dry.

I've got Eagle F1's Asy5 on my Leon FR, probably the best tyre I've used. Great traction in wet and dry, very good progressive breakaway and very good water clearance. Will def use them on my next car.

I’ve just replaced the Michelin Pilot Sports on the front of my A6 with another pair of the same, the old ones were getting worn and were sliding all over, new ones with full tread are much better.

I got a good deal at Costco with their Michelin offer, I don’t know if it’s still running though?

Pilot Sport or Assymetrics. Saying this, running Accelera Phi-R on 19" wheels and they're rather good and cheap too.

Have you thought about Michelin Cross Climates, I just put a full set on my A4 3.0 tdi avant quattro, excellent tyres, also had them on the front of my last 2wd Audi A4.
