MY2020 Q7 Delivery Delays

Hi All,

I was expecting to collect my factory order Q7 50 Tdi Black Ed [C+S] yesterday but have learned that there may be a complete halt ordered by Audi on these cars due to issues with the glue surrounding the front cameras. After lots of evasion from my dealer I have eventually been given my tracking number today to find the car is port side in Germany presently.

Can anyone shed some light on whether this is true? And opinions on if a fix to this problem would require a return to the factory or could be done at the delivering dealership once Audi find a solution?

Finally, if this is true and the car is significantly delayed what do people think are my chances of getting a courtesy car/loaner from the dealership for as long as it takes? I sold my 535d last week ahead of the expected arrival and using my fiancé’s Q2 is loathsome

There's been comments online about risk of fire from the front-facing camera in the Q7 meaning audi have put a stop on releasing new Q7's to buyers. If it's to do with the glue used, it would be surprising for it to only affect the Q7 when the same cameras are probably used across the model range (and also by seat / vw / skoda - you'd think they'd use the same glue?)

Conversation with a friend at Sytner a couple of weeks ago did mention a problem with Q7 deliveries but I don't recall the reason. We were talking about virtual cockpit problems putting a stop on another model at the time.

Thanks for your input and so for the delay responding. As a new member was locked out each evening I’ve tried to post.

Car was sourced via drive the deal 👍 They’ll be first place I look when I get bored of this Q7.

Dealer said they had 2 cars affected by the fire risk/front camera issue so far, but that Audi had parts shipped prior the car arrival and there was no delay caused by this...

My car has now been sat at Ebden for 2 weeks so hopefully it’ll board a ship soon. I’m guessing it’ll be 2-3 weeks from when it gets a ship??
