Morning all -

Firstly Happy New Year!

This is perhaps a commonly asked question but I can't find any responses so I thought I would pose the question again!
My 2016 RS6 is due an oil change service, the prices I have been quoted from the dealerships range from £350-£515.

Is it worth going to the dealership for this relatively simple service or would it be better going down the independent route? Will it really make much difference to not have the stamp in the book?

Thanks in advance!!

Most dealers will price match these days. Shop around the independents and see whether the dealer can match the price.. No harm in asking..

ask to supply your own oil - that will make a big difference to the total cost with a dealership

I only use MRC in Banbury for my RS cars, have been doing so for years. Aside from their knowledge and expertise I love the way taking a 700bhp car in there feels like you’re dropping of a Mini Metro as far as they are concerned as all they see is RS cars day in day out. I love that every tech won’t be hooning around in your car at every opportunity.

They also seem to be able to do big jobs like engine outs far quicker than Audi as they’ve done it many times before where as how often does a main dealer do an engine out on an RS6.

As above really; i use a decent indy on my RS6 for oil/filter etc changes and return it to MRC in Banbury (3hrs+ each way) for the big services. I have zero faith in my local dealers as have had shocking experience with my old RS4 and I've lost patience with the next closest dealer.

I own a 67 plate RS6 PE and use an independent for all consumables. Dealer charges are ridiculous for simple stuff, it won’t affect warranty and will save you a shed load.
