Skoda Superb - clutch issue maybe..
Discussion
Hi
Superb 2.0 tdi 2014 / 50000 miles
Any ideas what this problem is please?
Drove yesterday, 100% ok
Got in the car this morning, felt weird. Clutch pedal was half way to floor.. But worked ok
I pulled it up with foot. Then was Ok..
Driving today, sometimes clutch pedal ‘bit’ as normal, near top of travel. Once or twice had to press halfway before it did anything !
Now it’s fine
No sign of any leaks.
As a precaution i’ve now lubricated the rod which the pedal pushes through floor/cylinder
Doesn’t sound like hydraulic as it’s usually ok, is that right?
Will see how it it tomorrow ;(

Sounds expensive, that’s handy!
It was pricy - the vw specialist told me that it can be one or the other, and to start off with the cheaper option (master). They also recommended replacing the pedal assembly as that can wear and it is only a 35 quid part. Both showed signs of faults when removed but the problem remained. Stumped up for them to replace the clutch, DMF and slave which fixed the issue. The DMF was properly slack/loose so was not long for this world, the clutch material was about 75% worn, the pressure plate had damage to all the teeth in the middle and the slave had been leaking for some time. So I suspect one of those had been faulty from new/nearly new and had contributed to the rest wearing more than they should have by that mileage.Sounds expensive, that’s handy!
