Dream car has always been the C6 RS6 & currently looking for one and often thought it'd be no trouble given the understated nature of the car however the more I dig the more I worry myself about the risk of theft.

First golf Rs/S3s now it seems to be AMG estates and fast Audi's to be car of choice for the tools. I'm worried that given it'd be the wife's daily and the sound from it how much attention do they attract?

I'm not on social media so the car will be off the radar so to speak & it's also likely to stay away from shows too. I know I have some security improvements to make before I pull the trigger but they only go so far because if they want it they'll usually go to extreme lengths to get it.

Maybe it's only the bad stories to read online as there is guy around the corner who had a C5 saloon & now a b8 RS4 and seems to be no bother

I had a 7.5 Golf R Estate and now we have an RS4 and an RS5.

Last I looked, they were still there. I was also never killed for the Golf.

I’ve had an S3, an RS5, an RS4 and now a Range Rover Sport all of which are fairly popular with thieves and none have gone missing. The houses these cars have been parked outside of are not somewhere that random people would walk or drive past and our current house isn’t visible from the main road at all. Personally I wouldn’t worry too much unless, as above, I lived near somewhere like Bradford or various other hotspots in which case insurance would probably be prohibitive anyway.

Leave the keys somewhere where if someone is really determined they can get them without needing to use violence and make sure your wife is prepared to hand the car over and it’s not really a problem. That’s what insurance is for. Consider a tracker also.
