Saw a deal on Mountune52's instagram account a few days back, essentially a cat back exhaust system with a stage 1 fitted at their Essex HQ for £999 inc VAT. I'm on business at the moment in Australia not back for a couple of weeks but after a quick email I've was told that they would hold the parts for me. To make it even better, managed to find a discount code online and am getting the exhaust system, stage 1 ECU and TCU for £1080 fitted. It's a 200 mile drive to Essex, but on the bright side it's a 200 mile drive back :-D. I know that they have stage 2 in development too, so could be a really cheap way of getting my 'keeper' car where I want it. Will report back here, most probably in March, when all is fitted.

Didn't mention the car, but this is specifically for the mk7 GTI (not 7.5)

The gains certainly look impressive with that package.

Looks a good deal, but no controller with that package. On MK7's, the power is in the downpipe. Did you not just fancy going downpipe swap and a specific custom remap? Somewhere like Unicorn? Total cost would be about £900.

A grand to upload a generic flash and swap an exhaust?! Yeah, you go spend your money.

In the future try to look at the science and technology involved in the procedure, believing marketing hype and paying accordingly is indicative of insufficient research and/or understanding.

It was a consideration as there are a couple of good places nearby for custom maps, however, I was also looking for the DSG remap to change some characteristics that I don't like with the sport / manual modes that I'm hoping this will address based on feedback that I've seen. Most of the places doing custom remaps don't do the DSG so I'd be looking at somewhere in the region of £600 for the APR / Racingline DSG map. Essentially, I'm just changing the order in which I had planned to do things as I was originally thinking of getting a resonated cat back after doing the downpipe / map / intake (and I'm fully aware that the cat back has negligible, if any performance gain here). Kind of just see this as a free remap that I can change at a later date if I don't get on with it... If I do get on with it then bargain.

Keep OEM cat-back. fit aftermarket downpipe, fit uprated turbo intake pipe and get the Stage 2 file.

What’s a decent stainless cat back theses days, around £600 to £1000 ?
Doesn’t seem that bad to me, I’d be more concerned in putting 300 Bhp down in a front wheel drive car.
