Afternoon all,

I recently took delivery of a new Audi A5 Cabriolet. 40 TFSi if anyone is vaguely interested in the spec smile

Previous car was a Mercedes C220d Cabriolet, leased for two years.

The Audi has now covered 1800 miles from new and has a variety of increasingly annoying squeaks/creaks and rattles from the cabin. These are evident over any uneven surface (most of our roads).

Main culprits are rattling somewhere behind the drivers A pillar and what seems to be rattling inside the roof, where the roof meets the glass on the drivers side and above the drivers seat.

I’ve owned previous cabriolets (see above and also a C70 T5) and this seems to be by far the worst for annoying bloody noises. I would maybe occasionally expect a few intermittent ones........

Am I being a massive fanny? I know it’s first world problems to an extent but it is really starting to piss me off smile

Anyone had similar? is it simply a case of TADTS? If so, it’s a bit st for what is meant to be a premium car. (I accept it’s actually just yet another bloody Audi) smile

Thanks

CTO

Sadly, in my experience, this is the reality of Audi ownership. I’ve had many Audis and they’ve all rattled, buzzed and squeaked. Even RS Audi’s which are supposedly even better screwed together. In terms of the famed German quality, it’s a myth - they are on a par with Ford, for example.

Our 2011 A5 Convertible has no rattles, squeaks or noises. I would get it looked at!

I have a 17 plate a5 coupe. It had a really bad rattle in the drivers side door that once you get to about 50 is distracting loud. I booked it in to the garage to get it looked at and they seemed to have fixed it.
