Audi A3 'semi auto' advice...
Discussion
A friend of mine is looking to buy a fairly new (2016) Audi cabriolet with the Audi 'semi auto' gearbox.
I've always thought these gearboxes rather compromised and not destined for longevity. But others say they're perfectly reliable.
I would be interested to hear any views as it's not a subject I'm too familiar with.
Thanks....

You mean the S Tronic box?
Of that age they're generally fine but depending on the model in question may require oil changes at 40/75k.
Clutches on the 2 wheel drive 7 speed aren't the best and can get juddery/lurchy but seem to be alright by that sort of age. Ones we've changed have all been older than that.
