VW Tiguan - facelift Sept 2020
Discussion
We are looking at getting a new Tiguan as a family run around.
The 1.5 TSi seems to be good enough for this task.
Any good / bad experiences with this car or engine combination?
The dealer told us that the current Tiguan is about to be updated with a facelift in September.
We declared an interest in the facelifted model, keen to put our name down but then got the cold shoulder as it was clear they just wanted to sell the remaining stock of the outgoing version.
Any info on the facelifted version would be appreciated. Our current car runs the course of its lease at the end of August so we are not in any immediate rush just yet, happy to wait for the updated version.

I like the Tiguan, it had a nice feel and look to it. Only driven a 2.0tdi allspace R-line but in an ideal world sure I'd probably buy one.
My only gripes are that I read into alot of issues when this newer style was relased and I hope that they are all sorted. For me I would avoid the 1.5 petrol evo issue due to the 4 cylinder going into 3 cylinder mode and ending up kangaroo'ing at junctions https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/new-cars/2020-03...
Spec wise the Match edition has always been a good starting base and personally if you can get a good deal on the going out model I feel it will be more beneficial than the upcoming. If anything to keep up with the times make sure you have fully led lights as lets be honest only things that changed with the Passat was led lights, doing away with interior clock for light up in dark "Passat" logo, twin adblue dosing on diesel and the big PASSAT accross the tailgate. Wonder what the lease would be like on a Macan?
