B9 Audi A4 1.4tfsi - gearbox options.
Discussion
The other half is looking at a 2016 onwards b9 a4 to replace our Tiguan. She’s used to auto (DSG), but I’ve always been cautious with the 1,4 and lower DSG/ Stronic option as I believe the lower output cars got a dry clutch DSG rather that the wet clutch (stronger) box. Can anyone advise?
As always thanks for any help.

The first 7 speed dry DSG had some problems, it was usually the ones paired with the 1.4 twincharged engines which also blew up, I had one though and no issues at all with engine or gearbox.
They are still in use in alot of the cars though, I presume they have updated it. I think they also have 7 speed wet DSG now, just check which one it is.
Only way to know for sure is test drive it though.

It's a wet clutch version on the B9 1.4, being longitudinally mounted - the 7 speed dry clutch was used on the smaller capacity transverse engined cars like A1 and A3

The gearbox code is SVQ by the way (or it is on ours, at least). This is the service schedule for my wife's B9 1.4
