I've been looking at a 2007 S3 8P with 91k miles and FSH for £6k. Are these pretty reliable and what do I need to look out for at 91k? I'll probably be doing a max of 5k miles a year so should get a good couple of years out of it.

Look at the FAQ on Audisport.net. At that mileage it will need the cam chain and tensioner. With a cam belt and water pump your looking at £700.

Other items will need changing to get it running reliably and smoothly. Coils, DV, PCV.

These need engine oil changing every 10k with Haldex oil changing every 40k. However I’d be dropping the sump and doing the gearbox oil too.

If you are handy with the spanners you can do most of this yourself. I think I didn’t a good 2k on mine including a full set of PS4’s just getting it up to standard. It had ‘full service history’.

I changed jobs and received a good car allowance. Although I did few mikes I had to move it on as I found a good amount of rust in the inner drivers wing, and rust was coming through a previous poor paint repair on the rear quarter which I missed when I bought the car.

It’s an old car now. Expect age related issues at the very least.
