Hi guys & gals
I found out that driver’s door actuator was faulty.
I have taken the door panel off and all the various other bits & pieces.
To get the actuator out I had to undertake various things and one of them was the "black and yellow clip right at the back of the door cavity".
Well I watched various videos some good some not so good, including one that nearly made me "sea sick", but any onwards and upwards.
In extracting the actuator on my A3 1.9Tdi 8P1 2009 plate, drivers door, the yellow / black clip was stuck but I managed to get the actuator out with some jiggling and by unscrewing the threaded rod (it was the only way that it was coming out), so my question is as follows
How many times do you need adjust the threaded rod to make the mechanism it work ?
When I finally got the actuator out it was apparent to me that it really did need changing.

Hi Guys and Gals
So now I have managed to extract the actuator and I have a new actuator arriving estimated delivery Tue, 04 August - Thu, 06 August.
When I got the old one onto the bench it is well past it's "use by date", glad it happened this time of the year as opposed to the winter etc.
So basically I am asking at what position do I locate this rod, any help please would be extremely useful.
