My Q3 is supposed to have the ability to lower the base of the cargo area. But there are two large pieces of equipment bolted onto the boot floor preventing the shelf from being lowered.

Does anyone know from the pics what they are and if/how they can be removed?

All looks a bit permanent in there.

All I can think is it’s a mild hybrid system I didn’t know about or to be used to inflate a repaired tyre?

I think it lowers by 2" or so by sitting on all that stuff rather than the mounts at the side?

Is it one with the mild hybrid system in it? Could well be stuff to do with that.
The middle object has a part number on that leads me to believe it’s a voltage converter, I assume for the hybrid system.

You can only lower the floor if you have bulk standard sound system and no spare wheel. If you either the sound system upgrade (not just Bose) Or a spare wheel you can’t move it.

Pointless option if you ask me.

I didn’t get the comfort and sound pack so I’m pretty sure I don’t have an upgraded sound system. I definitely don’t have a spare wheel. And the 35 TFSI isn’t a mild hybrid as far as I know. What on earth could this stuff be?

Here’s another closer pic.

P.S. it won’t go any lower. You will see from the latest pic that the lower shelf bracket is blocked by that equipment.

I would guess that it looks like an amp Under that bracket. So I’d guess there’s some kind of stereo upgrade.

It is. As I mentioned, it's the sound system upgrade.

If you googled the part numbers you'd know exactly what they were.

I’m reliably told they are the car battery and ECU... What are they doing in the boot floor?! Why did Audi bother to fit the brackets for the adjustable cargo floor if you can’t use them?!

Mine is 35 TFSI and they seem to have plonked it in the boot.

Turns out it is mild hybrid tech sneaked into the 2020MY without telling anyone!
