VW Passat 2012 1.6 Bluemotion can't unlock

Hi all,

Been experiencing a litany of electronic issues with my Passat.

• Car didn't start in March, assumed new battery needed.
• New battery installed, no issues for a while
• Last week another flat battery. Jump started and fine - ruling out battery issues.
• Tried to drive Monday can't unlock the car to no avail. Tried both keys. Both key fobs illicit a red light when pressed. Tried manual key, still can't get in.

Any ideas how I can get in?

Other help on the battery drain issue would be very much appreciated. The car didn't lock when an 'immobiliser active' message appeared on the dash. I'm assuming the second flat battery issue is due to this.
