VW Golf Mk5 radio code conundrum
Discussion
Long story short, the battery was disconnected in my Golf GTI, which puts the radio into safe mode as we know.
Turns out the card with pin code is missing, but wanted to avoid waiting at VW so decided to use a radio code service who came back and said they couldn't issue one.
I'll just suck it up and go to VW, I thought. 3.5hrs later they tell me that they can't issue me a radio code because the radio was not the original one that came with the car, most likely had been upgraded to a Nav unit at some point. They can't give me an unlock against this unit either.
Anyone know what my next steps might be? Would a radio/electronics specialist be able to look at it?
