I'm looking to get my Audi a5 b8 2.0Tfsi quattro stage 1 remapped. It's a 58 plate with 112k miles on the clock.

I live in North-West London or Cambridge when I'm at university. Any recommendations where to get my car remapped? I've heard Revo being mentioned a lot in regards to A5s but their price including VAT comes to £598. They don't use a dyno either in the remap. Is dyno something I should be looking for? Whether a dyno is used or not the outcome is the same so it's not a big deal i'm guessing.

The figures Revo are quoting are: 208bhp to 286bhp and 258lb/ft to 348lb/ft. They recommend using 99 octane too. No modifications are needed.

I've also got a quote from Celtic Tuning for £295. They are mobile and so come to your doorstep (and obviously no dyno). Waiting time for this is 5 weeks though.

The figures they are quoting are: 208bhp to 262bhp and 258lb/ft to 312lb/ft.

Anyone with the same car had any experience with a stage 1 remap and if so where would you recommend?

I had a Revo remap on a Q3 I had, with the same 2.0 TFSI as yours. I replaced that with an Audi S5 and had that mapped with APR software, and the difference was night and day. I also know of a VAG independant garage that won't use Revo anymore, and uses just APR now.

If you want it done properly talk to Will at VRS Northampton. I'd also consider remapping the DSG software too if it's not a manual.

So are you saying APR gives you more gains than Revo? Because I've heard really good things about Revo, people seem to recommend them across the forums - software is well tested globally etc.

My issue was that revo seem bit pricey.

I'm saying that the difference with the APR remap on my S5 was night and day, compared to the difference on my Q3 with revo. A VAG specialist garage I know and trust also told me that revo is not as good as they initially thought, and they no longer sell their products.

If you think Revo is too expensive then APR may not be for you.

R-Tech performance are well regarded, I have one of their stage ones on my Edition 30.
Vrs are worth a look too.
