Audi A3 3.2 V6 air con

Hi All
I have a slightly odd thing going on with the air con which to me doesn’t seem quite right.
From cold start up, the engine / radiator fan will constantly be cycling on and off for approx 30 secs at a time.
The only way to stop it is to use the ‘Econ’ setting, ie turn the air con off.

Any other experience of this or where to start looking?

I had a 3.2 A3 that developed a fan problem; the engine fan would run/cycle intermittently, similar to your description but then eventually ended up not stopping even after engine off and key out of ignition so it would run the battery flat. Fault was diagnosed as a faulty fan controller which is incorporated into the fan so fan/controller was replaced, actually IIRC there were 2 fans changed?
