The other half is a bit of a wally and wants to change Her current Tiguan for an Amarok, I don’t quite see the appeal myself - welcome any feedback. But the real stopper is euro 6.

I believed that only the 3.0tdi were euro 6 compliant but a number of 2016/2017 2.0 BiTDI owners list them as ulez compliant (ie euro 6). Can’t get a definitive answer off the web any ideas? I have checked on the ulez checker but I’m told it can be inaccurate sometimes and the last thing we wish to do is buy a car and then it not be compliant.

  • for reference the 3.0tdi would be nice but the price rules these out of our search**
Thanks again.

Try searching the VCA website, they have emissions data on there.

The brochure from June 2016 shows them as Euro 5.

As above i believe the v6 was brought in for emissions - it was easier to slot in an existing known quantity EU6 engine than try and re-engineer the existing engine to meet EU6 in the Amarok. Anyway the 2.0 is a bit crap in the Amarok the 3.0 is a much much better match

VCA lists the 180ps automatic high line as eu6. Still not sure if I trust it based on the manual listing eu5.

Even the 180ps bitdi feels sluggish. Dont settle for second best, you'll regret it.

VCA is the actual data provided by the OEM to the gov. It is more reliable than the brochures...

Bearing in mind that the EU5 engine will have different CO2 outputs to the EU6, just look on the V5 and see what the CO2 when the vehicle was registered equates too.
