I've got insulating/acoustic glass on my Q7 and the handbook says that the windscreen has a special viewing window in order for toll collection
devices to work properly. I bought an Emovis tag so wondered where precisely to place this before I smash through a péage at 30kph...

Any ideas?

There isn't one. Apparently the viewing window is a separate area that is reduced thickness glass for it to work properly. My guess is that it's near the rear view mirror somewhere.

About 15cm to the right of the mirror, near the top.

Apparently you can see it if you look through the window with polarised glasses on.

Thanks mate. I saw that posted in another forum too but I can't find it and even spent time sitting at tolls yesterday trying to get the barrier to open without success.

Where do you have it? Put it as close as you can get it to the interior mirror along the top edge and it should be good.

You don't need polarised glasses but it helps, if you get the light in the right angle you can just make out the edge of the metallic interlayer. It will be where the doted shaded area merges to the open glass area.
