Mk5/MK6 Golf /Passat 2.0 TDI/2.0TSI gearboxes the same?

Does anybody know if the 6 speed manual gearbox in the 2 litre diesel and petrol Golfs and Passats are the same ?
I imagine the ratios will differ but are the same gearbox type?
The petrol 2.0 TSI has about 200lb ft of torque which is about 15% less than even the 140bhp/236lb ft diesels. So was just wondering how much more torque the gearbox on the 2.0 TSI could handle.
