Golf Plus (MK6) - Does new battery need coding?

The current battery in my car (an AA replacement, so not factory) has given up the ghost. It has been a little sluggish recently and leaving the car for a week has finished it off.

I've just bought a battery in a bit of a hurry on the Halfords site. The new battery is a slightly different spec to the one that was fitted to the car most recently (again, I have no idea what the car was built with). It was recommended based on the registration plate.

Do I need to do any coding? The car doesn't have stop-start and is quite basic.

FWIW:
Old battery: AA4004 60ah 550a
New battery: Yuasa HSB013 65ah 640a

Ordered, collected and fitted within 90 minutes. Working fine.

Probably not the cheapest way to buy a battery, but you can’t beat Halfords when you need a fix in a hurry on a Sunday afternoon.

Will report back if there are any issues.
