Hi guys,

Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong thread.

I picked up a 3.0 Quattro A5 coupe on the weekend.

The "Parking break malfunction" light is on along with the hand break light on the dash.

The electronic parking break doesn't engage at-all, doesn't even try to turn the motors (Cant hear it attempting to move them) and the light doesn't illuminate on the button its completely unresponsive.

From what i've been told it was sat for sometime over lockdown (not sure if this is relevant).

From what i've been able to gather from other threads is that its usually one side or the other but I cant seem to hear either side trying to work, Ive checked the fuses and they seem unbroken.

Am I missing something simple? Does anyone have any recommendations or a similar situation?
Any replies are appreciated.

Thanks

It will be the Parking Brake ECU.
I spent ages getting to the bottom of my problems. New calipers etc.
Came to £300 ish fitted (2 hours labour) at German car specialist.
Its a common problem.

before you do anything charge the battery overnight,
the first sign of a dieing battery on an audi is the handbrake playing up,

even if the car starts its some sort of safety thing
