Hi all,
my first post and its not even for my car...
Partners son has a 2009 Ibiza, MK4 I believe and he would like to upgrade his headlight bulbs to something approaching Xenon brightness and a blue hint.
I want to steer clear of some of the extremely cheap Chinese brands found on certain websites, they have to be road legal too and at the same time I don't want to spend silly money.

However can a standard headlamp that normally takes basic Halogen bulbs take Xenon?
I admit to being totally confused by the use of HID, Ballast resistors etc. and don't want to buy something that won't fit, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

shtu

They have two "blue" ranges if that's his thing, but odds are the fog light and sidelight will look odd, so it becomes change three sets.

Not in any practical, economic way. Stick with bulbs. Std nightbreakers are under £20\set, the blue ones likely a little more.

btw, partner's son needs to get off his arse and work out what type of bulb fits his car, if he wants to mess around with aftermarket bulbs. biggrin

Many thanks for the links, I'll check it out later...
What do you mean by not in an practical economic way?
Although I 100% agree with what you say about my partners son (have you met him!), In this instance it's actually me wanting to get the bulbs for him as part of a Christmas present.
He's gone on about blue Xenon bulbs, so whilst you are probably right about cost/practicality I want to ensure I can give him an appropriate answer if he moans!!

try something from the osram range but be warned the extra output means they dont last very long at all

dont be talked into putting true xenon bulbs into a non xenon lamp ...boy racers do it but its not legal and terrible beam pattern
