Any deals on the new Golf R?
Discussion
This might have been discussed, so point me in the right direction if it has, but has anyone seen or bought the new Golf R and managed to get a discount? I'm tempted, but with options, I'm up to £46k which is a little overpriced imo. Would be a cash buyer, but not sure if the £3k dealer contribution trick still works with PCP?
I tried drive the deal a few days ago (first time I’ve been on their website).
Built the car I wanted and it came out at £47k! It came straight back with a price of about £40,500.
I think this was 36 months with a £2k deposit.
They called a few days after and gave me a price of about £680 on PCP. Told them I wasn’t interested. 16 week delivery time.

You can take advantage of the PCP dealer contribution, but pay the finance off straightaway, if that's what you mean?PH_77 said:
VWFS will likely not have been lining up good finance deals with the uncertainty of Brexit looming. I'm not sure if they'd normally be doing so anyway on a new model that has only just been released.
They will need to do something to kick start it . Buyers are turning their nose up at it and buying the previous gen secondhand .As said well over £40k for a golf .S3 is cheaper and attracting more interest.
