I have a 2015 seat Ibiza fr act 1.4t, 138bhp 140ps, with engine code cpta.
Its cambelt is due to be replaced and I've got quotes from an independent (£340) and main dealer (£588) and they both said the price included the water pump. But everything I can see online says that on this engine the water pump doesn't interact with the cambelt and doesn't really need to be changed at the same time. And when I price up the parts the cambelt kit and pump alone comes to about £150 with discounts, so the indy must be looking at 3 hours labour? That seems quick... wouldn't really want them to rush it.
So who knows the answer?
Is the water pump driven off the cambelt? Is there any reason to change them both at the same time?

Another thing I noticed, the Seat website seems to have two different price lists for services/maintenace
https://www.seat.co.uk/owners/your-seat/servicing-...
and
https://www.seat.co.uk/owners/your-seat/servicing-...
There's about £20 difference on some of the items. Any idea why this is?
