Posted this on another forum and recommended to post it here too, so looking for some help

SWMBO's Polo has done almost a tankful of petrol since this time last year. We've had it four years and it's now done 1440 miles under her ownership, so not exactly a high mileage at 41k from new.

Generally it's been really good but has developed an odd electrical problem over the past month or so in that when parked up the windows will sometimes just open wide all the way down. And when driving the central door locks will randomly click on and off. I've charged the battery to make sure it's not a shortage of volts, but it starts and runs OK.

Overnight I'm locking the doors and disconnecting the battery otherwise likely to have a car full of rain or snow next day but anyone and bright ideas?

Someone said it might be the plenum's full of water but didn't know where or what that is.

Tried a VW dealer but they want £90 just to plug in their diagnostic machine

It's 2 door with just a basic plipper that doesn't control the windows or central locking at all.

Any ideas welcome please
