Is my new cambelt kit damaged? 2.0 CR

Evening All,

I wouldn’t mind a quick opinion please as I haven’t used either a Contitech kit nor fitted a cambelt to a CR diesel before. Anyway, kit came today, box ok although slightly dog eared, dated late last year.

Pulled bits out to check and I notice one of the idlers has marks running the circumference and the tensioner roller has rattled against something and has some very small marks on it. Photos below. Any thoughts, am I being over sensitive here?

Send it back to be replaced or is this the norm?

A very kind ebayer has just checked the identical kit they are selling, and it appears the idler has the same marks. So not too concerned about that now. I’ll leave the post as it may be useful for someone in the future

The idler marks are where they use an induction heater to get the bearing to fit, the scrape marks on the tensioner is because it's a piece of soft steel that is pressed, both marks are fine.
