Hey guys - I am seriously trying to scratch an itch - I love the R8 Spyder - to me it's a great looking car

Don't know why, the V10 doesn't appeal to me at all - but the V8 does

What should I be aware of, be considering or looking at please

Thanks

Khushy

I might be in the market myself late summer (coupe) so following with interest. My observation is that the ship has sailed on the manual cars especially V10 and prices are going up, maybe that increase will start taking the V8 and autos with it?

S tronic versions I hear are miles better than the older R-tronic.

Having been on the R8 Facebook page, there is lots of good advice, however one thing to consider is that they reach a price point where they become affordable (within reason) and seeing people complain about costs of repairs and tyres. These are still expensive sports cars. Make sure what ever you purchase has been looked after and not kept running on the cheap..

Good luck

I also prefer the V8; sounds nicer and is more enjoyable, more of the time, at more sane speeds.

Buy the one you prefer. Manual for me. S Tronic is a "safe" choice as anyone can drive them fast. With early cars manuals are already worth more and are more widely sought after than R Tronics. There are even fewer manual, facelift cars. Wouldn't be surprised if long term these also became the pick of the range.

The V10 with a sports exhaust sounds immense, its screams when you go up the revs. Different from the V8 for sure but certainly impressive and addictive!

I’ve had V10 manual coupe with the wingback seats for 3 years now and still struggle to see what I would consider swapping it for without spending at least double. Looks like the values are hardening on these now too.

Values and desirability both up for genuinely good cars. Sell yours to me if you do change it rofl

Lots of junk, and badly/cheaply maintained cars around too, sadly.

I was offered this the other day as "immaculate, just needs a roof motor":
