Passat B6 estate fuel filler cap

E233 is the boot release
E319 is the fuel flap button
J386 us the drivers door control module
I'd be checking to see if the plug has come off the switch first. The wiring where it passes through the door hinge area is bad on this era of Audi for getting crushed and breaking over time too. You can pull back the rubber boot where it enters the door and check the wiring inside to see if there are any breaks.
Has this just started happening or has it been a bit iffy for a while first?
Only just started hasn't been issue before, can't locate which fuse it is powered from any idea ? ..thought that might be starting point, but will take your advice and check cabling on door..... Bit of a nightmare was at filling station when failed to open. Thankfully got 3/4 of tank and was only topping up..
10A fuse, fuse 12 for the drivers door control module. Do the electric windows work from that side though?
Switch or switch connector is probably still No 1 suspect I'd say. It's all canbus on these cars, door module talks to comfort module. Comfort module does the donkey work and powers the flap motor / hatch release etc....
If there's a problem with the door module or comfort module you might expect to see a whole load of other problems.
That leaves the motor, the wiring or the switch. Switch is a good starting point. Could also be the motor but you're saying another feature of the same switch doesn't work either so I'd go for checking the switch.
If a fuse has blown you'd lose all of the features of the comfort module or the door module.
Cabling in the door is a real long shot, I can't see the full run on the diagrams but it looks like canbus module to module so probably not the issue unless nothing in the door works.
