The Golf R (mk8) lease thread
Discussion
Thought i'd start a new thread rather than people having to sift through hundreds of pages of info on the mk7.
I am seriously considering a Mk8 R - the Z4 is a fantastic car, but just not practical enough, as i've had to start travelling into work on the odd day.
I leased a Mk7 when they first came out, 2014 - and the deal i got was fantastic - i had a red 5 door DSG with no options @ £303 inc vat for 6x23, 10,000 miles PA + maintenance and tyre cover. Great deal - i don't think we will see anything like that again
Best i've seen so far on the mk8 is as follows
Personal car Lease (all including VAT)
£357.94inc VAT per month
Initial rental: £2147.64 inc VAT
48 months
5000 miles pa
no maintenance

Well there are only three colours made in the R for some reason. Some people are question the ease of use of the touch screen - there is a thread on here.
That deal does not seem too bad but the miles are low. £5k pa incl car tax for four years. Your deal on the 7.0 was not that different to what you have been quoted for the 8 when you adjust for miles.
FWIW I have DCC on my mk 7.5 and it is really good. Also watch out as the mk 8 has deleted heated seats as standard and replaced them with a heated steering wheel for some bizarre reason.

Try VW in Cheltenham. £1100 down, £365 a month over 2 years 8k miles. The best deal I could find.
Yeh, that's a good quote - i've been thrown a curve ball. - I spotted the M135i xdrive is coming in around £70 a month cheaper and almost identical in spec/performance.Have a test drive booked on saturday for the BMW... i have a feeling i'm going to be swayed..
